David Rivero is the Head of Device Development at AVaTAR MedTech, where he leads the end-to-end design and development of medical devices aimed at reconstructing aortic and pulmonary valves using autologous tissue. His work spans strategic planning and technical execution, ensuring that each device is safe, effective, and capable of adapting to the growth of pediatric patients.
David defines the vision, objectives, and technical roadmap for every device in development. From early concept creation to prototyping, testing, and manufacturing oversight, he ensures that each stage meets the highest standards of innovation, performance, and regulatory compliance. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, he drives solutions that combine engineering rigor with clinical impact.
Before joining AVaTAR MedTech, David built extensive experience across 3D printing, product development, electronics, automation, and advanced prototyping. As Production Responsible and 3D Printing Farm Manager at Che3D, he oversaw manufacturing workflows, quality assurance, and R&D initiatives, sharpening his expertise in thermodynamics, 3D design, and precision fabrication.
His background also includes leadership and technical roles within the Province of San Luis. At the Ministry of Education, he supported administrative and technical decision-making, and as Head of the Environmental Projects Area in the Ministry of Environment, he coordinated projects that integrated technology, data, and sustainability.
David spent nearly a decade leading 3D Printing San Luis, his own entrepreneurial venture specializing in 3D printing services, automation and robotics solutions, and the manufacture of custom-purpose drones. Additionally, he worked for 15 years at Rivero Agrimensura, contributing to technical conflict resolution, aerophotogrammetry, GIS, UAV operations, precision instrumentation, and data processing.
David’s work has been recognized nationally, earning a Scientific Merit Mention from the Argentine Senate for achievements in the ROBOCUP competition, an acknowledgment of his long-standing dedication to technological advancement.
Across all his roles, David combines engineering precision, creative problem-solving, and a deep commitment to meaningful innovation. Today, he applies this experience to AVaTAR MedTech’s mission of creating transformative medical devices for pediatric heart care.
